About Richard Ursha, Attorney at Law
I didn't come to criminal defense from a textbook. Before I became a defense attorney, I worked as a federal law enforcement officer and a special prosecutor, positions that put me squarely inside the justice system. I saw how cases were built, how charging decisions were made, and how outcomes were shaped long before anyone walked into a courtroom. That experience is the foundation of everything I do for my clients today.
When I take on a case, I'm not guessing at how the other side thinks. I understand it from personal experience. I help people who find themselves dealing with the Texas criminal justice system, often for the first time and often under enormous stress.
My office is in San Marcos, and I work with clients in Hay, Comal, Caldwell, and Guadalupe counties and throughout Hill Country. Call (512) 551-1179 today.

Hiring the Right Lawyer Matters
Texas prosecutors are experienced, the courts move on their own schedule, and the decisions made in the earliest stages of a case have a way of driving outcomes that can be very difficult to reverse later.
Having an attorney who understands this system from the inside helps to change the equation. I know what questions to ask, what not to say, and where the leverage exists in a case that might look straightforward on the surface. The system is not designed to produce the best outcome for you. That’s why I’m here.
